Captain Jim Sharpe fishing during his visit to Pedasi in May, 2010

Born in Miami in November of 1942 Capt. Jim grew up boating and fishing on the Miami River. In 1950 Jim and his father fished from Key Largo to Key West in the Florida Keys. His fishing experiences began in Miami and quickly spread to the Florida Keys and the Bahamas Islands.

Capt. Jim worked his way thru college mating on charter boats and running sport fishing boats from Florida to the Bahamas. Captain Jim is no stranger to the gulf stream and the Florida Straights currently logging more than 50 years fishing in the blue water. Fifty years in the Florida Straights can teach you a lot about sudden bad weather. The Sea Boots 43 is the product of many learning experiences in the waters between the Keys and Cuba.

In 1986 Capt. Jim began a radio fishing show on US 1 radio, a 100,000 watt FM station on Big Pine Key. The show was called Capt. Jim's "Fearless Fishing Forecast" airing morning and afternoons and forecasting upcoming fishing opportunities and previous outstanding catches. In the same year Capt. Jim began a 30-minute TV show "Fishing in the Florida Keys" on TCI Channel 5. This show was done live and produced and edited by Capt. Jim with video footage shot aboard the Sea Boots. In 1992 Capt. Jim completed his first book "Dolphin the Perfect Gamefish". He formed his own publishing house called "Fisherman's International Publishing House" . This book is still the only complete guide to dolphin fishing. Here is what the experts are saying; "All the secrets are here. Capt. Jim can catch dolphin when most others can't even find them. This is the most comprehensive and informative book on dolphin fishing I've ever seen" - Capt. Jose Wejebe, ESPN TV Spanish Fly.
